中新网评：“躺平”不是选择，全球大流行远未结束

        中新网北京6月19日电（蒋鲤）当地时间6月15日，美国国家过敏症和传染病研究所发布消息，该研究所所长福奇博士新冠病毒检测结果呈阳性。

　　美国前总统特朗普在任时期，福奇曾多次批评特朗普政府的防疫政策。而如今，即便是拜登连任，福奇仍去意已决。《华尔街日报》认为，这显示出福奇对美国防疫的无可奈何。

　　据美国约翰斯霍普金斯大学的统计，截至6月10日，在过去28天里，美国的新增新冠肺炎病例数高居全球榜首，单日新增病例数超10万。美国疾控中心也在本周发出警告，称两种最新型、传染性更强的奥密克戎变异株正在美国快速传播，一些新型流行病的传播风险也在加大。

　　如今，美国拥有全球最丰富的医疗资源和最先进医疗技术，但其累计确诊和死亡病例数均高居世界首位，这一巨大的反差不禁令人唏嘘。

　　美国起初担心疫情影响经济，公然淡化新冠病毒威胁、误导民众，称其为“大号流感”，为疫情扩散埋下祸根，而美国政客拒绝反思自身抗疫政策，炒作疫情阴谋论，甩锅推责，企图转移国内矛盾。

　　美国联邦政府又无法制定全国统一的应对措施。各州政策五花八门，甚至相互矛盾，关于是否戴口罩、是否打疫苗的争论不断上演。而如今，面对数以千万计的感染者，美国又选择了“躺平”，宣布“与病毒共存”，鼓吹“群体免疫”，解除口罩令，不再要求保持社交距离。

　　如今，美国政府高官不断被曝出感染新冠，而国内新冠死亡病例也已超百万，可以说，这不是天灾，而是人祸。新冠疫情全球大流行还远未结束，任何国家都不应该松懈，只有继续采取戴口罩、打疫苗等有效措施，使新冠病毒在全世界范围内被消灭，人类才能取得这场战斗的最终胜利！

　　(ECNS) -- Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to the U.S. President Biden and director of the country’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has tested positive for COVID-19.

　　The person who knows best how to prevent the pandemic in the U.S. has once criticized Trump’s epidemic prevention policies for many times, but now the “U.S. anti-Covid captain” has made up his mind to quit his job even if Joe Biden is re-elected, which shows Fauci’s helplessness facing the epidemic situation in the U.S.

　　Data from the Johns Hopkins University shows that as of June10th, the number of new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. in the past 28 days ranked first in the world, with more than 100,000 new cases per day on average.

　　The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this week warned of the grim epidemic situation in the U.S. According to the CDC, BA.4 and BA.5, two new subvariants evolved from the Omicron lineage are spreading rapidly in the country.

　　Now the U.S. with the richest medical resources and the most advanced medical technology in the world ranks first in the cumulative confirmed cases and deaths of Covid.

　　Disregarding citizens' lives, the U.S. government downplayed Covid-19's threat and misled the public from the very first, which has planted the seeds for the epidemic spread. And some politicians refused to reflect on their anti-Covid measures and kept hyping conspiracy theories about the epidemic, trying to shift domestic contradictions.

　　Meanwhile, the U.S. federal government failed to take unified measures across the country, but let all its states act independently, the result is, policies of various states are different and even contradictory, following by the debates over whether to wear masks or get vaccinated.

　　Who will pay for the consequences? Yes, the U.S. people.

　　And now many senior officials serves the U.S. government have been reported infected with coronavirus and more than one million people died of the epidemic in the country. It is not a natural disaster but a man-made calamity.

　　The epidemic is far from over across the world. The U.S., and all the rest countries in the world should not just lie down and do nothing. Only we humans continue to take effective measures like getting vaccinated and wearing masks, and wipe out the coronavirus in the world can we eventually win this battle.
