A melody can be heard everywhere in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The sound of the plucking is crisp and loud, and the songs of the artists are very passionate. It is like an oasis in the desert, bringing a different kind of vitality to this land. Alvaro, a foreign language expert working for People's Daily Online Spanish Edition, set foot on this land with a rich ethnic culture and began a journey to explore Turpan Muqam. Here he saw a traditional Uyghur wedding where Muqam artists gathered together. He also learned Turpan Muqam from a cultural bearer. Alvaro walked through the fields and into a school. The colorful sounds and warm and cheerful dances left an indelible impression in his memory. All that he saw and heard showed him the long history and development of the Xinjiang Uyghur Muqam.
